THE YORKSHIRE ASSOCIATION OF CHANGE RINGERS
SCARBOROUGH AND DISTRICT BRANCH
Welcome to our website. This is a new venture for us and we hope you will find it of interest, informative and maybe even sometimes, amusing. Being in England's largest county, the branch's eastern border is the beautiful coastline with the North Sea, stretching about 40 miles from Whitby down to Bridlington, and about 30 miles westward as far as Helmsley, Hovingham and the Hambleton Hills. It is also one of the least populated areas and there are a mere 30 towers, including 10 three-bell towers and 4 being deemed unringable, spread over about 1000 square miles.

There is a wide variety of ringing available, ranging from the 3 bell towers to 10's at Scarborough and Whitby, and light rings (4cwt tenor of the six at Filey) to the relatively 'beefy' 26 cwt of the Bridlington eight. Whether you are a ringer or not, you are most welcome to visit our towers. A NOTE ABOUT NAVIGATION SHOULD YOU OPEN A PAGE WHICH DOES NOT DISPLAY THE NAVIGATION PANELS AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM, FOR EXAMPLE ENLARGED PHOTOS OR .pdf FILES PROVIDED FOR PRINTING, USE THE BACK KEY ON YOUR BROWSER TO RETURN TO THE SITE.
