The Priory Church is in Old Town, formerly known as Burlington. It formed part of the medieval Priory. Bridlington Priory Bells The Priory has a ring of 8 bells housed in the South Tower which are said to be one of the finest rings of eight in the country. The treble weighs 6cwts with a diameter of 2'7" and the tenor is 4'5" and weighs 26¾ cwts. The present bells were first hung in May 1902 and were re-hung as part of the Priory restoration in 1992/3. The draught is 75ft. Ringing takes place for ½hr before Sunday services and visitors are most welcome. We often have visiting bands to ring quarter peals and one full peal is permitted per year for which we have a waiting list. We are always looking for people to join our dedicated band of ringers so if you fancy having a go (you don't need to be especially musical) come to one of our practices which are on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm until 9.00pm.
